I think this is my first ever serious drama other than my regular halts of Romance and comedy. 

Watched it may be 2+ years back but I could still feel the tension build up while watching.

To tell the story in short, how a TV news can destroy a family. 

In year 2000 Ki Ho sang was a fire squad leader who was happily living with his wife and two sons. There was a fire explosion and Ki Ho sang and his few mens lost thier life in rescue. Someone was telling that Ki Ho sang left his people to die and escaped fire and he is under hiding now. This spread as a big news on TVs, the families of the died person's start accusing Ki Have sangs family and suddenly they become outcasts and furstrated that they couldn't find thier dad. His wife along with her younger son committed suicide on the sea shore. Elder son was left alone and he was resenting all the person who was blaming thier dad for wrong.

However the younger son who fell on sea was saved by amenesia patient Choi gong pil, who thinks this boy as his own son who died 30 years ago. The younger son is now named as Choi Dal po (Lee jong suk 😍) is officially adapted to Choi family now. 

Chois younger son Dal Pyung is returning to live with his father along with his daughter Choi In Ha ( Park Shin Hye) after his divorce. In Ha has a peculiar syndrome called Pinocchio Syndrome, where she hiccups whenever she lies. Dal and In ha were getting along until Dal Po finds out In Ha s mother is the reporter who was projecting his dad bad. 

Years later they were in highschool. Dal Po have secret crush on In Ha which he never Express as In Ha is his niece now. Dal Po always scores zeros in all his tests even though he was super brilliant. He was trying to act dumb like the actual Dal Po. 

Chan Soo , who is a school topper says he is going to propose to In ha when he is going to win the quiz program on TV.

Dal Po hates TV and Reporters from his past experience. However he enters the quiz show just to stop Chan Soo from proposing In ha. 

I love the quizzes scene. Every quiz answer will be explained from his past flash back and answers all the questions and wantedly say a wrong answer at last. 

Choi In Ha on seeing Dal Po on TV, and also like how she admired her mother on TV she wanted to become reporter. She tried studying for 3 years to become reporter at the channel MSC where her mother works. However her mother rejects her saying she can't be reporter with Pinocchio Syndrome. 

Dejected In ha throws all her books out. Dal Po stops her saying he also wants to become reporter now. They can study together and succeed. After few months they attend interview at the rival channel YGN and only Dal Po gets selected.

As MSC s rating was going low, In Ha s mother recruit her using the Pinnochio Syndrome as publicity stunt.

So now Dal Po and In Ha are rookie reporters at rival channels.

How the reporters collect news, present all will be interesting watch. Kim young kwang will be second lead (my another all time crush 😘) 

It was quite a different experience watching how news is being telecasted. Who manipulates the news. Credibility of the news show. You will surely ne getting insight of how media works for TRP and rating.

One of the must watch dramas in KDrama world.
